Workshop Yoga and the Art of Drawing
There are fascinating parallels between yoga and artistic activity such as drawing. Both are paths to self-discovery, expansion of consciousness and self-realisation.
We combine yoga practice with drawing in the broad sense in these workshops. The workshop consists of:
- A yoga group class of one hour
- A free drawing workshop in group (art space) of two hours
The workshops are open to everyone regardless of their age, ethnicity, shape, body type, appearance, physical abilities, sexual orientation or whatever may distinguish us from each other.
No prior yoga experience is required.Everyone can participate according to their personal ability. The minimum age for these workshops is 18 years.

What is included in the workshop?
The workshop consists of:
- An accessible yoga class with relaxation meditation at the end.
- A drawing workshop, free or with a particular theme determined in common agreement.
- Water, tea and a vegan snack during the drawing workshop.
What kind of artistic activity do we practice in the workshops?
In these workshops, we choose drawing as a form of expression. Drawing in the broad sense of the word. That means we can use other media besides pencils. Everyone can bring their own art materials, and these can be pencils, pens, felt-tip pens, pastels, oil crayons brushes and their corresponding inks or paints, and so on.
The main purpose of the art space moment is to provide a regular time slot, a space well-defined in time within which we allow our creative faculties to flow, so as to make art a truly regular practice. Because sometimes we have the desire to create but, for various reasons, we do not put it into practice.
If desired, we do joint creative warm-ups or short exercises to get our drawing engine going. At the end of the session, we share our experience and exchange about our work, in the same spirit of complete acceptance and non-judgement that also characterises yoga.
When we make statements about the work of others, we do so with very clear agreements beforehand about the form of our comments.
What materials will we work with during the workshop?
We choose to work with pencil and coloured pencil. This is approachable, versatile and allows you to realise beautiful things in a relatively short time. Everyone is invited to bring their own favourite drawing materials. Moreover, you are free to work with drawing media other than (coloured) pencils alone. Basic drawing paper and drawing pencils are provided in the workshop for those who would not have them.
What kind of yoga do we practice in the workshops?
A regular practice of yoga can drastically change your life for the better.
The yoga we practice is called Prana Yoga. Prana Yoga: a well-balanced maintenance yoga.
Are you absolutely new and beginner to yoga or looking for a medium-intensity yoga form? Then Prana Yoga is perfectly suited for you.
Good breathing forms the basis and starting point of this yoga.
In a Prana Yoga class, we use the three essential pillars of yoga:
- Mental focus
- Breathing
- Posture
Focused attention, breathing and posture/movement form the golden trio that improves energy flow in the body. Moreover, Prana Yoga helps to maintain a strong and flexible back, which is worth its weight in gold for those who sit still a lot and like to engage in artistic production.
Prana yoga is also great for those who consider themselves beginners and want to take a first step with yoga.
The class ends with a 10- to 15-minute reclined relaxation, which brings us to complete relaxation. Yoga makes you feel better in your body and more in touch with your true self.

In what language is the workshop?
The workshop is multilingual NL, FR and EN based on the language of the participants present.
This is a challenge, and we have good experience from the past with this formula, which works very inclusively in the Brussels’ context.
